Garshasp: The Monster Slayer is a hack-and-slash action platformer being made in the most unlikely of places: Iran. The creation of Dead Mage Studios in Tehran, it follows the mythical exploits of warrior Garshasp, who is mentioned in both Persian and Zoroastrian texts. This is even more shocking since it's still being made despite several internation sanctions against Iran.
To avoid these issues and reduce cost, the game is being made on the open source Ogre3D engine and utilizes Nvidia PhysX physics simulation. It expected to receive a release on Steam and GamersGate soon. [Via RPS]
