I have an MMO now. MMOs are cool.

The BBC has announced a Doctor Who MMO, to be developed by the company that made Puzzle Pirates.

If you don’t want to wait, and you have a UK IP address, you can get your Doctor Who gaming fix with Doctor Who: The Adventure Games, a series of third-person adventure games, where you play as the Doctor and Amy Pond. If you can’t download the games, you can watch playthroughs of them here.

Of course, there are plenty of older games, too.

  1. Hmm, my attempt to link to the playlist seems to have broken things. Here’s a link directly to the video.

  2. I’m a bit skeptical of how exactly the MMO is going to work, for reasons similar to those mentioned in the RPS article. Are *all* players going to play the Doctor? If not, who do the players play?

  3. Spicy! Man, I was really sucked in to Puzzle Pirates for a while there. If there is a Doctor Who version of Puzzle Pirates I am going to be in trouble.
