1. Co-creator and producer of ZR here: Yeah, that’s an… interesting article! I wouldn’t call Naomi an “a relatively unknown writer” after she won the Orange Prize for New Writers a few years back, unless – of course – you just mean from the perspective of games.

Happy to answer any questions about the game!

  2. No offense to Naomi intended — I was just quoting the source article!

How cool is it that one of the people involved in creating the game is a Gamefilter member? Very cool. I don’t have any questions right at this moment, but: fantastic idea, and I hope it’s a massive success, adrian.

  3. I saw this on the kickstarter funded games page yesterday and I’m super excited to play. I may hold off a little and see how long it takes to get RunKeeper integration (the reason for holding off might also be because I’m saving up for some much better running gear). I love the concept!

  4. I bought this a couple days ago. Pretty neat so far!

Minor complaint on the computer voice that reads the items that you pick up. Unfortunately I can’t always understand what he says and since it sounds so artificial and robotic, it sorta ruins the immersiveness.

I’d also like to see some more strategy on using the items back in the base. Right now there’s not may choices for the player.

However, I realize that’s not the point of a game. As long as it gets us running it’s probably doing the right stuff :)

What Is Gamefilter?

Gamefilter is a community weblog based in spirit and intent on the great work of Matt Haughey and his staff at Metafilter. It's all about sharing links to interesting stuff on the web, but with a narrower focus on gaming-related links -- good stuff that other people might not have already seen -- and talking about them.

Anyone can join for the low low price of zero dollars, and once you're a member, you have the senses-shattering power to post new stuff right from the front end of the site, and talk about that stuff in the comment threads. You don't need an account to read GFi, but as well as giving you The Power To Post, membership also lets you

  • Thank and Favorite all the goodness
  • Build a profile page with all your stuff in one convenient place
  • Send private messages and friend/follow your favorite GFites and their unstoppable Gfiltering style
  • Feel the warm glow of satisfaction in helping grow the community
  • Do all sorts of other neat things, both now and coming in the future!

Gamefilter is part of the growing MefightClub Network of sites, including our forum home, MefightClub itself, FullGlassEmptyClip, our group blog, and Ludic Research Labs, who are a bunch of bastards.

Your genial host is stavrosthewonderchicken, the miraculous poultry who built and administers the MFC Network sites, and a bunch of other web stuff as well. He has a minor addiction to building websites. He loves you all.
