1. My first response when I saw this post this morning: ‘Neat, I remember reading about this ages ago, and now it’s finally out.’

My first response after starting it up tonight: ‘This is pretty charming!’

But then: ‘Hmm…I’m not actually sure what to *do* with a portal gun in these SMB levels. I guess they make reaching the top of the flagpole easier.’

(The special Portal level set looks more interesting, but I’ll have to save that for another night.)

  2. Yeah, the main problem with this game is that the SMB levels are designed in such a way that the portal gun always seems to fees superfluous. The portal level map pack is definitely more interesting. (Reminds me a lot of that portal flash game.) I haven’t gotten far enough into it, but I do hope that eventually they start working some enemies into it, too. :)

And that reminds me that I still need to go and play this — which is the Portal flash game imported into Portal proper. Circle: complete!

  4. That flash portal map pack is difficult as all hell. But super fun and challenging.

  5. Might as well jot down here that while the link above goes straight to the developers site and is thus safe, a recent devblog update mentions that there are copies floating around on other sites that reportedly contain malware. (info on malware report)
