1. Oh yay! I’m so glad someone posted that, I wanted to but didn’t want to be all Pepsi Blue. I know we release a lot of teasers and whatnot, but this one is by far my favorite.
Make sure you check out the Sarif Industries site for more pirate propaganda goodness!

  2. I caught this the other day, and I was thinking to myself ‘holy shit, that’s some great CGI!’ before I noticed that the link I’d followed to it said ‘live action’ and then I was mildly crestfallen.

  3. It’s all about story, baby.

  4. I have no interest in live action trailers for a video game.. game play trailers yes, but that’s about it.

  5. Whoops. I was actually thinking of the live action Prey trailer!

  6. Whereas I am extremely enthused for live-action trailers. Considering how non-representative some “in-engine” trailers are, this is almost more honest.

  7. I am ready for someone to go fully ironic and use an underpowered SNES-tech sprite engine to create trailers for modern shaderrific 3D blockbusters.

  8. I wish someone would take a big budget crack at an FMV game again. Who needs the fancy face capture tech from L. A. Noire when you can just film real people?

  9. I’m also meh about live-action trailers, they’re too often pure hype that add or reveal nothing about the game. Looking at you, Halo.

In Eidos’ defense, we’ve already released like a bajillion gameplay trailers and Q&As and inside looks at every aspect of the game, plus the leaked review copy… The material is out there if you want to know what the game looks and feels like. But from the comments we get, people are worried about the depth of story, which is where the Sarif v. Purity First ARG stuff comes in. Little bits of fan service to show we care.

À propos, I have a major girl boner for Mary DeMarle, lead writer and best-job-ever-haver. She’s in a lot of Q&A stuff, check her out.

  10. For such a rich subject, this ad was surprisingly one-note theme, boring even.
